Virtua Fighter 5 - Boxed - PS3

17 invitations were sent out for the fifth edition of the World Fighting Tournament. 15 fighters return and two new faces appear in the arena: the young girl Eileen, who uses monkey kung fu, and the lucha libre wrestler El Blaze. The participants have no idea that the organising body J6, which is financing the tournament, has prepared a new Dural fighting programme. In the previous game, their first version was defeated and the organisation kidnapped Vanessa. She managed to escape, but her fighting data was recorded and used to develop V-Dural. With the new tournament, J6 wants to unmask the insider who helped Vanessa escape and test their new programme against the world's best fighters.

The general gameplay of one-on-one arena combat remains intact, but there are a few changes. The ranking system has been overhauled, throw speed has been reduced and there is a new offensive move that allows fighters to evade each other and execute more strategic attacks. The new clash system can be used to interrupt an attack with a throw. This edition also features deeper character customisation.
