In "Stuntman" you take on the role of an aspiring stunt driver working on major feature films. You begin your journey as a newcomer, working on low-budget films. As you gain notoriety, you receive offers for big-budget Hollywood films, including major stunts and pyrotechnics.
Stuntman is set in six different locations, with a different film being shot at each location. Each film has four to eight different missions. Some involve chasing a car through a harbour, jumping between two trains, or jumping through windows. Once a film is finished, you can watch a trailer of the film incorporating your stunts.
In addition to the career mode, you can complete various driving tests, such as speed tests, precision tests and, of course, stunt tests. Stuntman also includes a stunt park editor that lets you place ramps, obstacles and other equipment in an arena and then play through them.
As a stuntman, you get to drive various cars, including police cars, sports cars, trucks and armoured vehicles.
Stuntman can also be informative. Before each stunt, your character will describe what they need to do and how important timing is. You can learn various techniques used by real stunt drivers, such as the cannon roll and the nitro boost. You'll also learn the names of various pieces of equipment, such as the "sidepipe", which is used to roll a car onto its side.
