Need For Speed: ProStreet is the 11th game in the NFS series.

It features not only new and more detailed graphics, but also a new type of gameplay. The game has no Free Roam mode (as in Underground 2, Most Wanted or Carbon), but it does have an Event Map, similar to the Event Calendar in Juiced.

The player's main goal in this game is to become the "King of the Streets". That's nothing new. However, the game no longer features illegal races – all available races are sponsored, and the action takes place on various race tracks. No more traffic, no more driving in the city.

The game offers 2 game modes. Career (you start your "life" as an insignificant racer and will conquer everyone over time) and free play (where you can drive with unlocked cars and on unlocked tracks).

As usual, the game includes a jukebox where you can listen to some singles that EA used as the soundtrack for the game. The game also includes new car models and the classic race modes, with the exception of chases, since ProStreet does not promote illegal racing. As usual, you will be asked to create an alias (profile) when you first start the game. You can choose which profile to load the next time you start the game. After creating the alias, you will be asked to choose your difficulty settings.

All versions, with the exception of PlayStation 2 and Wii, include an online multiplayer mode.
