Description
NHL 2002 is EA's latest instalment in their NHL series.
New features compared to previous years include "Breakaway Cam", which slows the game down, tints it blue and switches to letterbox mode when you're one-on-one with the goalie, and "EA GameStory", which tracks your progress and rewards you for outstanding performances.
NHL 2002 is the first game in the series to feature NHL cards, equivalent to Madden's NFL cards. Performing special feats, such as scoring within the first 30 seconds or winning 10 faceoffs, earns you points that you can then use to buy cards.
NHL 2002 includes all professional NHL teams as well as international teams such as Team Canada and Team USA. Every stadium is included, as is every player.
NHL 2002 features many game modes, including Season, Quick Play, Shootout and Exhibition. There's also a "Create-A-Skater" mode.
