Untamed features some of the classic features as well as some new ones. There are 250cc and 550cc motorbikes and four ATV models, but also monster trucks, off-road dune buggies and trophy trucks.
Players can perform crazy stunts and compete against each other in six different race series (Supercross, Nationals, Opencross, Supermoto, Freestyle and Rally) or in X-Cross, a tournament that combines all the series, and sponsorship money can also be earned: good performances reward the player with better motorbikes. There's also the Crash Camera, a super slow-motion shot of crashes and spills, similar to MotorStorm.
A few minigames are also included, such as ATV Hockey, Monster Truck Smash and Tag, to name just a few. Online mode lets the player compete against other opponents. The gameplay is very similar to the console systems, and specific buttons for gas, brakes and the Wii Remote can also be used.
The DS and PSP versions are almost identical. While the DS version has only a few vehicles and only one championship mode, unlike the many series in the major console versions, it includes ten exclusive tracks and three stadiums. The PSP version is fairly similar, but has different series compared to the console versions: Race, One on One, Time Attack, Stunt Challenge, Stunt Race, Hang-Time, Combo Challenge, Flag Challenge. There's also the X-Cross tournament, but it's called MX vs. ATV World Tour instead. The games can be played over Wi-Fi against friends.
