The 2005 instalment of Sony's licensed Formula 1 series has been updated with the official teams, drivers and tracks of the 2005 season, including the new circuit in Istanbul, Turkey, which opens on 21 August 2005, and the Red Bull team. This instalment also introduces an online multiplayer mode for up to ten players simultaneously, along with a world leaderboard.
In addition to season mode and quick races, the career mode has been expanded with new features such as interactive pit stops and a pre-race grid presentation set against a backdrop of mechanics, grid girls, journalists, camera crews and special events. As you progress through career mode, you can unlock classic F1 cars and bonus tracks. The game supports EyeToy with DigiMask technology: create your own driver and gently wrap your image around the model's face to become the champion yourself.
