Dynasty Warriors 8 - boxed - PS3

Dynasty Warriors 8 is the eighth instalment in the long-running Dynasty Warriors series from Koei. It follows the tradition of adapting Luo Guanzhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms. As in Dynasty Warriors 7, each of the clans Wei, Wu, Shu and Jin introduced in the previous game has its own story mode. In each phase, four characters are available to choose from, rather than a predetermined character. Whilst the story largely follows historical events, some optional objectives can be completed to unlock a branching hypothetical chain of events. Additionally, each of the characters from the "Other" factions has its own story mode.

Dynasty Warriors 8 introduces several new playable characters, some of whom return from earlier Dynasty Warriors games or, like Zuo Ci, from Warriors Orochi, bringing the total available characters to over 82.

In addition to Story Mode and Free Mode, Ambition Mode is introduced. The goal is to build a social support base for the people of the kingdom, which will be visited by the Emperor. This tower, called the Tonquetai Tower, must be improved through various events, skirmishes, raids and major battles, with each event affecting the tower's growth in different ways.
