Timpo 2 Indians with Rifle and Knife (Wild West)

Figures: 2 Indians with rifle and knife
Manufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1960s
Condition: New

2 Timpo Indians with Rifle and Knife from the Wild West series by Timpo Toys (approx. 5cm tall). These are 2 original figures from the late 1960s in as-new condition. The figures consist of 8 interlocking individual parts: feather, hair braid, head, collar, upper body, belt, legs, stand plate. These are 2 figures from the earlier Timpo generation. The weapons are moulded onto the upper body and cannot be removed. In addition, the stand plates are older, simpler versions without base relief. Figures of this simpler design have their own particular charm through the stylisation and reduction of features to the essentials.

Timpos are interlocking toy soldiers made of polyethylene (soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5cm tall and consist of several interlocking individual parts that can be combined and swapped between one another. Thanks to the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were cast from plastic granules of different colours, one on top of the other, creating lifelike detail. Timpos are old collectible figures, yet still relatively affordable in most cases.
