Timpo Foreign Legionnaire with Rifle from the Legionnaires/Arabs series by Timpo Toys (approx. 5cm tall), original from the first half of the 1970s in near-mint condition. The figure consists of 4 pluggable individual parts: torso, legs, rifle, and stand. The legionnaires date from the late phase of Timpo Toys, the heads are cast onto the torso and are not removable.
Timpos are pluggable toy soldiers made of polyethylene (a soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5cm tall and consist of several pluggable individual parts that can be combined and swapped with one another. Thanks to the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were cast from plastic granulate of different colours, one over the other, creating a sculptural fidelity to detail. Timpos are old collectible figures, and yet are usually still relatively affordable.
