Description
Timpo Paratrooper with Blue Parachute (World War II)
Figure: ParatrooperManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1970s
Condition: New
Timpo Paratrooper from the World War II series by Timpo Toys (figure approx. 5 cm tall), original from the 1970s in near mint condition with a blue parachute and long boots. The image with the open parachute is only intended as an example to show that the figure can actually "fly".
Timpos are plug-together toy soldiers made of polyethylene (soft, flexible plastic) from the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5 cm tall and consist of several plug-together individual parts that can be combined and reconfigured with each other. Through the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were moulded from plastic granules of different colours one on top of the other, creating a sculptural level of detail. Timpos are vintage collectible figures, and yet they are usually relatively inexpensive to obtain.
