Perry #97 is a classic science fiction comic from the Moewig publishing house, based on the successful pulp novel series Perry Rhodan. The comic book is in very good condition.

The comic series Perry was published by Moewig Verlag between 1968 and 1975, reaching a total of 129 issues. This science fiction comic was a comic adaptation by the publisher and, after Perry Rhodan im Bild (1967-1968), the second attempt to bring the famous pulp novel source material into the comic medium. The series carried the casual, reassuring subtitle Unser Mann im All (Our Man in Space) and soon developed into a garish, colourful pop-art comic that appealed more to young adults than to children. The artistic direction was handled by the Italian graphic studio Giolitti, and the majority of the drawings were simple copies from a wide variety of American comic books of the time. Panels from Marvel Comics in particular were shamelessly copied, and above all it was John Buscema whose drawings were used again and again as source material. Nonetheless, the series Perry has its own very special charm, especially because it is a typical product of its era and, as such, still comes across as lovingly nostalgic today. Most of the cover artwork was created by Moewig's in-house artist Johnny Bruck (1921-1995), who also visually defined the source material — the pulp novel series Perry Rhodan. For sales-strategic reasons, the publisher evidently found it important to maintain at least a visual unity on the magazine stands.
