Description
Illustrierte Klassiker #16
Comic: Illustrierte Klassiker #16Language: German
Publisher: BSV Comics (Bildschriftenverlag)
Year: 1957 (1st edition, HLN=16)
Condition: 2-3 (Two to three) Good to fair
Illustrierte Klassiker #16 with the comic adaptation of The Talisman by Walter Scott. The comic book is in a used condition.
The comic series Illustrierte Klassiker was published in German by Bildschriftenverlag (BSV) from 1956 to 1972 and ran to 205 issues. It was the German version of the American Classics Illustrated series - classics of world literature presented in comic form. The artists were often above-average in skill, many of the source novels were adapted very well into the comic medium, and for many young readers at the time it was their first contact with literary classics. On the back cover of the comics (or on the last page of the issue), the available and re-orderable issue numbers were listed. Using this Highest List Number (or HLN), the print run of the comics can be determined, as strong demand often led to multiple reprints. It's clear that collectors today are mainly interested in first editions.
