It all begins with a simple contract that Rios and Salem received upon their arrival in Shanghai. Then the city is suddenly attacked by a mysterious force called the "40th Day Initiative". This is the story of Rios and Salem, who must escape Shanghai as quickly as possible while trying to uncover the secret identity of their attackers. On their way out, they may also have the opportunity to rescue hostages that the Initiative has selected for elimination. But in the end, it's about getting out alive while the city is torn to pieces.

Army Of Two: The 40th Day is a fast-paced third-person shooter with a strong emphasis on organic co-op, diverse strategic options and constant destruction.

The game features new co-op moves that can be performed to plan and implement new strategies to flank and surprise the enemy. The weapon customisation interface is also back, with more weapon parts, paint jobs and add-ons that allow for diverse tactical possibilities on the battlefield.

Mercenaries have no rules of engagement, but they have values. Throughout the story, several cooperative decisions must be made. It's up to the players to decide whether they want to rescue innocents on their way out of Shanghai or whether they're only interested in the money...

Additionally, a new, revised multiplayer mode is available that allows up to 10 players to fight simultaneously. 4 different modes are available: Partner Deathmatch, Warzone, Control and Extraction.
