Product information "Zelda II The Adventure of Link - NES - DE"
Link has just turned sixteen and discovers a strange birthmark on his hand. With the help of Impa, Zelda's nursemaid, Link learns that this mark is the key to a secret room where Princess Zelda sleeps. When she was young, Princess Zelda received knowledge of the Triforce of Power, with which she could rule over the Kingdom of Hyrule. However, when a wizard unsuccessfully tried to learn from Zelda about the Triforce, he put her into eternal sleep. In his grief, the Prince placed Zelda in this room, hoping that she would awaken one day. He ordered that all female children in the royal household should henceforth be named Zelda, so that the tragedy would not be forgotten. To bring Princess Zelda back, Link must now find all pieces of the Triforce, which are hidden throughout the land. Each piece of the Triforce is located in a temple, guarded by a powerful monster that must be defeated. At the same time, Ganon's minions are still nearby and are becoming stronger and more numerous. It is said that Ganon can be brought back to life by sprinkling the blood of the one who defeated him on the ashes – and that was Link himself. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is an action role-playing game and a sequel to The Legend of Zelda. The gameplay alternates between a top-down view (when he travels through the land) and a side-scrolling perspective (when he fights, in a temple or a city). In the overhead view, Link cannot do much except walk. In the side-scrolling action view, however, he can fight, cast spells, collect items and talk to people. When Link encounters an enemy in the wilderness or enters a place where enemies are present, he can fight them with his sword. If Link is at full health, he can throw his sword, but if he is injured, he can only fight in close combat. Link has a shield that protects him from some of the enemies' attacks if they hit the shield. When he touches an enemy or is hit by its attacks, his health decreases. If he has no health left, he loses a life. If he loses all his lives, it is Game Over. Link can fully restore his health by encountering a fairy in the wilderness or using the services of a healer in a town. Link also has a "Magic" gauge. He can cast spells (if he has learned them) if he still has some magic power left. Spells cost a certain amount of magic power. They have various effects: they heal Link, allow him to jump very high, shoot fireballs, etc. The magic power gauge can be refilled by collecting blue and red vials, which are sometimes left behind by enemies. When Link defeats an enemy, it may leave behind an item or give Link some experience. When Link gathers enough experience, he levels up, which allows him to purchase weapon strength, maximum magic or maximum health with his experience points. The player can also choose not to buy anything and hoard their experience points for later use. There are some items to find that are necessary to reach certain points in the game. The Adventure of Link features battery backup, so games can be saved without requiring a password system. More
