Description
Timpo ACW Confederate Soldier with Rifle (Wild West)
Figure: ACW (American Civil War) Confederate soldier with rifleManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1970s
Condition: New
Timpo ACW Confederate soldier with rifle from the Wild West series by Timpo Toys (approx. 5cm tall). This is an original from the 1970s in good condition. The figure has the older head version and the older dark blue trousers (as opposed to the light blue trousers of later generations of soldiers) and consists of 7 pluggable individual parts (hat, head, neckerchief, torso, legs, rifle, base plate) and can be combined with other Timpo figures by swapping parts.
Timpos are pluggable toy soldiers made of polyethylene (a soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5cm tall and consist of several pluggable individual parts that can be combined and swapped among each other. Thanks to the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were cast from plastic granulate of different colours, layered on top of each other, which creates a sculpted level of detail. Timpos are old collectible figures, and are nonetheless usually relatively affordable.
