Thief - Boxed - PS3

Der Rabe: Legacy of a Master Thief is an episodic crime adventure game in the style of Agatha Christie novels. The overarching story follows a thief known as The Raven, who pulled off some of the most spectacular heists before being killed by an inspector named Legrand. Several years later, one of the famous jewels from the Eyes of the Sphinx is stolen from the British Museum. The style and execution seem to match those of the old Raven, fuelling rumours that the Raven might not be quite as dead as assumed.

The game consists of three chapters titled The Eye of the Sphinx, Ancestors of Lies and A Murder of Ravens. Initially only the first chapter was made available, with the following chapters released monthly and downloaded automatically upon release.

In the first chapter, you start out on the Orient Express and take on the role of Jakob Anton Zellner, a comfortable old Swiss policeman tasked with assisting the now-famous Inspector Legrand. On your journey by train and ship, you meet a dozen individual characters, all of whom appear to be heading to Egypt, where the remaining Eye of the Sphinx is due to be put on display. In later chapters, you also play through the story from the perspective of several other main characters in the game, revealing further details of the story and introducing twists in the plot.

The game is a classic point-and-click adventure, although the scenes are fully rendered in 3D. In addition to classic mouse controls, a controller can be used to move the character through the scenes. The game has an orchestral soundtrack and several cutscenes, giving it a cinematic feel.
