Joel, a ruthless survivor, is asked by a dying friend to smuggle fourteen-year-old Ellie out of one of the quarantine zones. This seemingly simple job soon becomes a profound journey across the USA. On this epic journey through the post-pandemic United States, the two encounter a wide variety of factions of survivors and infected people. They must learn to trust each other in order to survive in this deadly world.
