Skate 3 [Essentials] - Boxed - PS3

skate 3 takes place in the city of Port Carverton. After a failed trick (jumping over the shark statue in the stadium), “The Legend” (the player) begins their goal of becoming a skate mogul. The player works on building a team of skaters to compete against other teams, with the goal of selling a million skateboards.

The player can customise the team's name and choose a preset logo at the start of the game. Once selected, the player can change their appearance, clothing and board. Later in-game purchases unlock further clothing and board options.

The player uses the controller's right stick to perform ollies and tricks. Ollies are the basic way of jumping. The player pulls the stick back and flicks it forward to leave the ground. By controlling the direction of the flick, the player can flip the board. A button combination during the jump alters the trick even further.

There are various challenges to complete. Other notable challenges include:

“Hall of Meat”, in which the player must bail off their board to score as many points as possible (through broken bones, distance, air time, etc.).

“Own the Spot/Lot”: in both, the player must complete a trick (or series of tricks) with a certain score to win the Spot/Lot. The difference is that Spot is played solo, while Lot is played with the player's team.

“Photo”/“Film”: the player must perform either a preset or player-chosen trick with the object(s). After completing “Photo”, the player can choose which photo to use for the magazine cover. Film, on the other hand, doesn't offer this choice.

New features include:

  This tool lets new and returning players learn and improve their skateboarding skills.

• skate.Park:
  This tool allows the creation of custom maps.
