Shadow Warriors - NES - EN

Ninja Gaiden begins with a cinematic animation in which two ninjas duel to the death, with one of them falling to the ground. It is then revealed that the slain ninja is the father of Ryu Hayabusa. Learning this, Ryu sets out to find his father's killer and the reasons behind it. This quest leads him to America to find an archaeologist with whom his father had worked. From there, Ryu becomes embroiled in an evil, supernatural conspiracy involving a villain named Jaquio, who plans to use an ancient castle and some relics to unleash a terrible evil upon the world. Ninja Gaiden is a side-scrolling game in which Ryu, the ninja, can run, jump and strike with his ninja sword. He can also grip any vertical surface. Power-ups are scattered throughout the landscape, with which Ryu can hurl fireballs and ninja stars and perform other tricks. Ryu fights his way through cities, forests, jungles, snow-covered castles, underground railways and ancient castles. An important feature of Ninja Gaiden is the cinematic scenes – sometimes in full-screen mode – in which the plot unfolds.
