Rygar - NES - EN

This version of Rygar differs significantly from the arcade original and its ports, although it tells the same basic story: a legendary warrior rises from the grave to defeat the forces of evil in the land of Argool. This version is not a linear arcade game, but emphasises exploration and allows the player to seek out locations with special items that can open previously inaccessible areas. The game includes a light RPG element in the form of permanent power-ups that increase the main character's combat performance. It also offers multiple perspectives: the action-oriented sections are viewed from a side-scrolling perspective, but when moving between zones, the game takes on a top-down view, which can also lead to combat situations.
