Description
One Piece: Unlimited World R is an action game based on the Japanese anime and manga series One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. It follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat pirate crew as they embark on a new, unique adventure in the game, facing off against familiar faces from the anime and manga. These include Dracule Mihawk and Boa Hancock from the Shichibukai, Smoker and Tashigi from the Marines, as well as the mysterious newcomer Patrick Redfield. In addition, several allies of the Straw Hats also make playable appearances, such as Portgas D. Ace and Trafalgar Law.
Although Unlimited World R has an original story, it borrows much of its gameplay from its predecessor, Unlimited Cruise SP. The core elements of combat and adventure remain intact, with changes in the form of a new button layout and the ability to both fight and go on adventures with a team of companions. In addition, the ability to guard and counter has been added, and the SP gauge for special moves has been changed so that it now charges up instead of depleting.
