Description
Yakuza: Dead Souls is the sequel to Yakuza 4, set one year later, but with a significantly more fantastic premise. The game also features a radically new combat engine, as the undead can easily deflect kicks and punches. Each character can equip up to four weapons simultaneously, from pistols with unlimited ammunition to widespread shotguns, powerful anti-tank rifles and incendiary grenades. In the quarantine zones of Kamurocho, the player can be overrun by zombies at any time, with more than twenty attacking at once. In addition to zombies, the player also encounters mutants, such as the fast and agile Monkeyboy or the Cry Baby that summons zombies, which are stronger and require different tactics. Even more dangerous prototypes appear in the course of the story as final bosses.

As in previous Yakuza games, there are often side quests between the main story missions. The quarantine has turned the lives of many people upside down, and they need help to return to the infected areas to rescue someone or conduct business. A new feature in Dead Souls is perfect partners, as some of these people in need join the protagonists permanently, enter the quarantine when called, and level up with them and gain new abilities. Most of the minigames from the previous Yakuza games, such as restaurants, hostess bars, fighting cages, crane machines and much more, are all present. The Colosseum does not make a comeback, but Subterreania does—a randomly generated dungeon full of enemies that rewards the player the deeper they venture. More
