X-Men Origins: Wolverine [Uncaged Edition] - Boxed - PS3

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition) is the release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and differs greatly from the version for Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP and NDS, which is simply called X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The game follows the story of the film of the same name and describes Logan aka Wolverine's background before he joined the X-Men. The player begins with the final mission of the elite squad known as Team X, witnesses Kayla's death, escapes from the Weapon X facility with his new, reinforced skeleton, and finally helps Wolverine take revenge on Victor Creed aka Sabretooth. In between there are dozens of enemies, including several boss fights that require extensive use of the famous steel claws. Wolverine uses various combos and finishers as he slices through his enemies, turning his normal light and heavy attacks into serious damage. It is often even possible to make the environment the cause of an enemy's death by throwing them onto a spike or something similarly harmful. The player also has access to four rage attacks. These attacks are very powerful but require rage to be performed. Rage, in turn, is simply built up by killing enemies. The game also uses quick time events to unfold scripted cutscenes.

By killing enemies, Logan gains experience points (including a multiplier if he defeats them in quick succession) as well as by finding dog tags hidden on dead soldiers in the levels. Once he has gathered enough experience, Wolverine levels up, gaining not only more health but also skill points. These can then be used to learn new combos or increase the power of combos already known. In addition to the dog tags, Wolverine's old suits from the comics are also hidden in the levels. Finding them all unlocks bonus challenges and allows you to use the corresponding suit in the normal game.
