X-Men Origins: Wolverine [Promo Not For Resale] - Boxed - PS3

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition) is the release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and differs significantly from the version for Wii, PlayStation 2, PSP and NDS, which is simply called X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The game follows the story of the film of the same name and describes Logan, aka Wolverine's, background before he joined the X-Men. The player begins with the final mission of the elite squad known as Team X, witnesses Kayla's death, escapes Weapon X facility with his new, reinforced skeleton, and ultimately helps Wolverine take revenge on Victor Creed, aka Sabretooth. In between, there are dozens of enemies, including several boss fights that require extensive use of the famous adamantium claws. Wolverine uses various combos and finishers as he slices through his enemies, turning his normal light and heavy attacks into serious damage. It's often even possible to involve the environment in an enemy's cause of death, by throwing them onto a spike or something similarly harmful. The player also has access to four rage attacks. These attacks are very powerful but require rage in order to be performed. Rage, in turn, is simply built up by killing enemies. The game also uses quick time events to unfold scripted cutscenes.

By killing enemies, Logan earns experience points (including a multiplier if he defeats them in quick succession), as well as by finding dog tags hidden on dead soldiers throughout the levels. Once he's gathered enough experience, Wolverine levels up and gains not only more health but also skill points. These can then be used to learn new combos or increase the strength of combos he already knows. Besides the dog tags, Wolverine's old comic-book costumes are also hidden throughout the levels. Finding them all unlocks bonus challenges and lets you use the corresponding costume in the main game. More
