Description
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine is a third-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. The player takes on the role of Captain Titus, a member of the Ultra Marines, an elite unit of Space Marines. His mission: to repel the Ork invasion on the industrial planet Graia. A superweapon is stored there that the Orks must not get their hands on. He must also face Chaos Marines and other alien races.
The gameplay is straightforward: run through the levels — usually in pairs — and kill enemy hordes. Titus has a variety of ranged and melee weapons at his disposal, but the focus is on close combat. As in most similar games, there are combo attacks performed by pressing the right buttons and timing. He can also unleash particularly powerful attacks once he has built up enough rage by killing enemies. Titus must also tackle rail-shooter sequences, and sometimes he gets a jetpack and more open level design. To reflect the nature of the Space Marine class, there is no cover system and a mix of regenerating shields and health that can be restored through executions.
