Venetica - Boxed - PS3

Venetica is an action RPG in which the player watches Scarlett from behind the shoulder as she travels through the world. Several typical RPG tasks await the player in the game, including various quests, conversations with NPCs through multiple-choice dialogues, fighting against many enemies, collecting items and gathering experience points to level up and learn new abilities. In the quests and dialogues, the player often has to make decisions that not only affect the entire story, but in some cases also how the world around Scarlett reacts to her.

Scarlett can perform powerful combo attacks against her enemies with her weapons. She has access to four weapon types and two skill trees packed with active and passive talents, and can acquire new weapons and armour as the game progresses. With hammers and axes, Scarlett can smash through locked doors. She can also wield the Moonblade, a legendary, upgradeable weapon that alone can destroy undead creatures. Killing someone with the Moonblade restores Scarlett's shadow energy.

The latter is needed for Scarlett's special gift: as the daughter of Death, she doesn't die so easily. If she has enough shadow energy, she instead rises again after a few seconds with half her hit points. However, if Scarlett has very little energy left, her death is permanent. Shadow energy is also used to enter the shadow world for a short time. In the shadow world, everything is frozen, allowing Scarlett to escape her enemies or catch them off guard from behind. By entering the shadow world, the player can also find portals and doors to areas that are hidden and inaccessible in the normal world. The player can also learn the Shadow Path ability to enter and leave the shadow world at will.
