Description
Valkyria Chronicles is a tactical role-playing game set in Europa, a fictional version of Europe, in 1935. At this time, the Imperial Alliance invades the Atlantic Federation in the west. Their war will soon engulf all of Europa, including the peaceful nation of Gallia. Although Gallia is small, it is known for its rich deposits of Ragnite ore, a powerful source of fuel and medicine. When the Gallian town of Bruhl is captured by Imperial troops, Welkin Gunther, his sister Isara, and his friend Alicia Melchiott take up the fight against the foreign invaders and join the Gallian Militia in this game set in the style of the Second World War.
The player commands their troops via an overview map, selecting units and controlling them in a real-time third-person view. Combat against the enemy is waged using a variety of unit classes, including the Shocktrooper (basic soldier), the Scout (excellent movement and sight), the Lancer (anti-tank), the Engineer (repair, resupply, mine defusal and more) and the deadly Sniper.
This PS3-exclusive title stands out for an art style best described as watercolour anime.
