Description
Aziraal was the ancient god of war worshipped by the orcs, said to possess immense power. When Aziraal's grave was opened at the end of the first game, the god's powers passed to our hero's sister. Now the dark lord Gandohar, who wants Aziraal's power for himself, has captured our hero and his sister and is draining these powers from her. The escape from prison serves as the tutorial for the game, until the hero finally sets off for Antaloor.
There is a huge world to explore, containing deserts, forests, swamps, coastlines, cities and rural areas, as well as many hidden caves and dungeons. There will be encounters with every kind of monster imaginable, from killer insects to giant beasts, as well as humanoid enemies of various races. Since enemy levels are not tied to the player's level, some fights must be avoided until the hero levels up and improves their abilities. The game boasts enough quests to keep the player occupied for around 100 hours.
In the single-player game, the hero can only be male. His specialisation (warrior, ranger, mage) can be changed at will by swapping equipment. Success depends entirely on how the earned skill points are allocated.
Two Worlds II offers improvements over the first game, including a new user interface, a new game engine and new magic and crafting systems. It includes all the gameplay elements that were present in Two Worlds I (riding, crafting, forging, alchemy). Sailing (planned for the first game but never released) is possible in this game, albeit only in a few places.
Spells and abilities can be learned to enhance every form of combat. Learned spells can be combined with one another using the new card modifiers to enhance or alter their effect. Improvements in crafting and forging make it possible to upgrade weapons and armour in various ways. For example, items in the inventory can be broken down into their basic materials (cloth, wood, iron).
Two Worlds II also offers five multiplayer modes for up to 8 players: Crystal Capture, PvP, Duel, Adventure (7 chapters) and a Village mode. In multiplayer mode, new characters are created, selectable from several races and able to be male or female.
