Transformers: The War for Cybertron tells the story of the Transformers long before they came into contact with Earth, which was already explored in the games based on the films from 2007 and 2009.
A third-person action game that uses the Unreal Engine to depict the robots and their environments. Players can take the side of either the Autobots or the Decepticons in single-player and online co-op campaigns for up to three players. Each side offers its own story and missions in which the player can run, jump, shoot and, of course, transform. In single-player mode the player is accompanied by two other Transformers, who can be controlled either by AI or by the player. Since it's a Transformers game, a key element is the ability to transform at will and thus switch between the running robot or the driving or flying vehicle mode to explore the game environment. Both modes offer different forms of mobility and weaponry.
Online multiplayer is available and allows players to configure their own Transformers character from one of four classes to duel in six different multiplayer modes such as Deathmatch, Code of Power or Countdown to Extinction.
Reprising the role of Optimus Prime is voice actor Peter Cullen, whose involvement in the role dates back to the origins of Transformers in 1984.
