Transformers: The Game - boxed - PS2

Transformers: The Game casts players in the role of either the Autobot or Decepticon faction and attempts to find the AllSpark, the artefact that gave life to their race. The Autobots want to protect it for good, whilst the Decepticons crave its power for evil. The two factions have waged their battle on the planet Cybertron, but to protect it, the Autobots have hurled the AllSpark into space, where it remained hidden on Earth. When the Decepticons discover the location, they want to end the war on Earth.
In a 3D sandbox environment with opportunities for environmental interaction and destruction, players can choose between two teams, each with different story-based objectives. These are set in various locations, with primary and secondary quests. The story line for the heroic Autobots follows the plot and events of the original film. The storyline for the villainous Decepticons, however, allows the robots to both destroy the planet and give their enemies a more aggressive end. Players can choose characters from the list of selectable Autobots such as Optimus Prime or Bumblebee or Megatron and Starscream from the Decepticons.
Presented from a third-person perspective, robots can switch between a robot and a vehicle/aircraft form, jump, block, dive underground, roll, dodge, use various weapons and climb buildings. Special actions can be unlocked via the Skill Tracker. When performing long slides or jumps, symbols light up in the tracker and offer extras.
Various collectibles can be found along the way, ranging from promo images and artwork to playable versions of the original "Generation 1" characters. The overall gameplay is identical across the various platforms, but certain features are bound to specific versions.
