Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - boxed - PS3

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is a video game adaptation of the 2009 blockbuster of the same name and includes some elements from its predecessor as well as some newer features. The story is set two years after the first film/game, as the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, work together with a team of American and British forces called N.E.S.T. and many of Earth's governments. Their goal is to track down and destroy the Decepticons left behind after Megatron's downfall, but they encounter resistance at every turn.

At the same time, the human protagonist, Sam Witwicky, tries to lead a normal life and heads off to college, unaware that he will soon be swept up, along with the entire planet, into a battle in which an army of waiting Decepticons will invade Earth, a familiar enemy will be resurrected, a mysterious foe known simply as "The Fallen" will emerge, and a secret capable of wiping out all life on Earth will come to light.

As in the previous game, the player can choose to take on the role of the Autobots or the Decepticons, each with their own campaign and locations from the film, as well as new locations created to expand the game. The events of each campaign include elements from the film, but also additional missions not taken from the film, to flesh out the game.

Unlike the first game, however, this version features a non-linear storyline, in which the player can choose which missions to complete in any order. These missions take place in "zones", and once a player has completed all the missions within a zone, they can explore that area in a free-roam mode without having to repeat missions.

There are also online capabilities alongside downloadable content and five different multiplayer modes. Deathmatch allows up to eight players to play freely, while Team Deathmatch pits two teams of four players against each other. One Shall Stand is a variant of Team Deathmatch, with the difference that the goal is to eliminate the leader of the opposing team. In Control Points, two opposing teams fight for control of certain marked areas, earning points for captured territory. Battle for the Shards is a capture-the-flag variant in which two teams search for shards of the Allspark and bring them back to their home base to score points.
