Transformers Autobots - Nintendo DS - DE

Transformers: Autobots is the first game in the dual film adaptation of the 2008 blockbuster film. In the Autobots version, players take command of the good guys. The game begins in a big city where the player learns how to control their own Transformer. By tapping on the touch screen, the Transformer transforms from a fast-moving vehicle into a giant robot. The robot form can climb buildings, destroy cars or other objects in the world, fight Decepticons and learn the basics of the mission on Earth. From there, the player completes missions in the city and travels to other locations. By scanning the numerous vehicles in the area, it becomes possible to transform into them. Some are just for fun, like the ice cream truck, but there are also helicopters and aeroplanes. Players can compete against their friends, including those playing Transformers: Decepticons, in various game modes in local 4-player multiplayer mode. Via Nintendo Wi-Fi, players complete daily missions to earn points for the Autobots in the battle for the Allspark. Player profiles can be uploaded and looked up on the official game website, where other profiles or game saves can be viewed or compared. Apart from the gameplay mechanics and visual style, the Autobots version differs significantly from the Decepticons version, with its own characters, missions, a focus on situations from the film and a different ending. Unlike the console versions, the Transformers are initially restricted in their abilities and must progress through a role-playing-like upgrade system. The game's focus is largely on attacking, as there are few to no defensive options (including blocking), but plenty of health symbols.
