Description
Timpo Native American Rider with Tomahawk (Wild West)
Figure: Native American rider with tomahawkManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1970s
Condition: New
Timpo Native American Rider with Tomahawk from the Wild West series by Timpo Toys (approx. 8cm tall), original from the first half of the 1970s in like-new condition. The figure consists of 12 plug-together individual parts: feather, hair braid, head, necklace, torso, tomahawk, belt, legs, saddle, reins, horse, base plate. On the newer figures, the weapons (here the tomahawk) were no longer moulded onto the body and could be removed from the figure.
Timpos are plug-together toy soldiers made of polyethylene (a soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5cm tall and consist of several plug-together individual parts that can be combined and rearranged with one another. Thanks to the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were cast from plastic granulate of different colours, layer upon layer, creating vivid, true-to-life detail. Timpos are old collectible figures, and yet are still relatively affordable in most cases.
