Description
Timpo Arab with Stone (Arabs and Foreign Legionnaires)
Figure: Arab with StoneManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1970s
Condition: New
Timpo Arab with Stone from the Arabs and Foreign Legionnaires series by Timpo Toys (figure approx. 5cm tall), original from the 1970s in as-new condition. The figure consists of 4 interlocking pieces (torso, legs, stone, base). The Arab figures were made during Timpo's later period and consisted of fewer individual parts than the early figures. They were produced in far smaller numbers than the popular Wild West figures, which is why they're rarer and correspondingly more expensive today.
Timpos are interlocking toy soldiers made of polyethylene (a soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5cm tall and consist of several interlocking parts that can be combined and swapped between figures. The overmoulding process, developed in England in the early 1960s, made painting the figures unnecessary. The individual parts were cast from plastic granulate of different colours, layer upon layer, giving the figures accurate 3D detail. Timpos are old collectible figures, yet are usually still relatively affordable.
