Description
Timpo Arab with Dagger (Arabs and Foreign Legionnaires)
Figure: Arab with DaggerManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Year: 1970s
Condition: New
Timpo Arab with Dagger from the Arabs and Foreign Legionnaires series by Timpo Toys (figure approx. 5cm tall), original from the 1970s in like-new condition. The figure consists of 4 interlocking parts (torso, legs, dagger, stand). The Arabs were produced during Timpo's later period and consisted of fewer parts than the early figures. They were made in far smaller numbers than the popular Wild West figures, which is why they are also rarer.
Timpos are interlocking toy soldiers made of polyethylene (a soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approx. 5cm tall and consist of several interlocking parts that can be combined and reassembled with one another. Thanks to the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were cast from plastic granulate of different colours, one on top of another, creating a lifelike level of detail. Timpos are old collectible figures, yet still relatively affordable in most cases.
