Description
Timpo ACW Confederate with Flag (Wild West)
Figure: ACW (American Civil War) Confederate Flag BearerManufacturer: Timpo Toys
Vintage: 1970s
Condition: Lightly played
Timpo ACW Confederate with Flag from the Wild West series by Timpo Toys (approximately 5cm tall). This is an original from the 1970s in good condition. The figure features the older head version and dark blue trousers (as opposed to the light blue trousers of later generations of soldiers) and consists of 8 interchangeable individual parts (hat, head, neckerchief, torso, legs, flag pole, flag, base) and can be combined with other Timpo figures by swapping parts.
Timpos are interchangeable toy soldiers made of polyethylene (soft, flexible plastic) by the company Timpo Toys from the 1960s and 1970s. The figures are approximately 5cm tall and consist of several interchangeable individual parts that can be combined and swapped with each other. Through the overmoulding process developed in England in the early 1960s, painting the figures became unnecessary. The individual parts were moulded from plastic granules of different colours layered on top of each other, creating plastic detail fidelity. Timpos are vintage collectible figures, and yet they are usually relatively inexpensive to obtain.
