Description
In the near future, scientists develop a so-called quantum suit that enables the wearer to travel through time. Two prototypes, called Alpha and Beta suit, are ready for testing when Aiden Krone enters the laboratory, steals the Alpha suit and makes a time jump before blowing up the building. Fortunately, you were there and were able to jump into the Beta suit and activate the time travel before the building was destroyed. But the suit needed a second too long to jump, so the explosion hit it and your jump didn't go as planned. As you wake up in an alley in the future, you quickly realise that Krone has already declared himself ruler of the world and transformed it into a totalitarian state with him as dictator. Shortly after waking up, you are found by some rebels and join their mission to stop Krone and repair the timeline, as your suit was too badly damaged by the explosion.

Fight your way through hordes of enemies with futuristic but also conventional weapons like pistols or shotguns. Your suit is not completely useless. It still allows you to slow down time for a short period, rewind and fast-forward. With this you can not only overcome obstacles like fire, but also outsmart your enemies. Players can slow down time and then steal a weapon from an enemy's hand - if he isn't holding it too tightly. This function is also used for small time-related puzzles.

There are notable differences to the time manipulation element from the Prince of Persia series. Time manipulation does not affect yourself and if you become too badly wounded and die, you cannot simply rewind. You stay dead and must reload. The game also has no medipacks. Instead, the hero only needs to rest briefly when wounded and is then fully healed.

Time manipulation is also part of the multiplayer experience. In addition to the normal game modes Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, One-on-One and Capture the Flag, the game also offers King of Time and Meltdown Madness.

In King of Time there is a time sphere in the middle of the map that makes you immune to all time effects. To win the game, you must make many kills while you have the item. In Meltdown Madness, instead you must throw Chrono Grenades at your opponent's team machines to prevent them from functioning. Once a team's machine has finished its countdown, that team wins.

Chrono Grenades are included alongside the Time Shield and Time Resistance Power-up in all other game modes as well. Chrono Grenades come in three flavours and slow down, fast-forward or rewind time in the area of the explosion. The Time Shield not only makes you immune to time manipulation, but also slows down any foreign object in a certain area, which is good for dodging enemy fire. The Time Resistance Power-Up grants immunity to all time effects for a short time.
