Description
Time Crisis 4 is the fourth main game in the series and was once again ported from the arcade version. In the original arcade mode, the story follows Giorgio Bruno and Evan Bernard, who belong to the V.S.S.E. task force and investigate a secret weapon being smuggled by a terrorist organisation called W.O.L.F. The game can be played with two players simultaneously and features the classic time-limited gameplay sections in which both offensive and defensive actions must be carried out. Just as in Time Crisis 3, it's possible to switch between the various weapons available.
New in the console version is the "Full Mission" mode, in which the player controls Captain William Rush, who has the same mission and will cross paths with the V.S.S.E. agents. In this mode, the player can move freely through the environment instead of just playing a rail shooter, collecting items, investigating locations and taking over gun turrets. Alongside the two main modes, there are also crisis missions and a number of shooting-gallery mini-games.
The game comes with a Guncon 3 light gun controller, which uses infrared emitters instead of the cathode ray timing of previous controllers. Two analogue sticks are also built in to assist with the free-roaming segments.
