Description
The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian is a 3D action-adventure set in the Bronze Age, released alongside the film The Scorpion King.
The game offers an original storyline that precedes the film. You play the future Scorpion King Mathayus, an Akkadian by birth, a tribe famous for its assassin skills. Magus, a dark ruler, plans to resurrect his dark master. Mathayus is tasked with a simple assassination, but it soon becomes clear that there is more to it than meets the eye. He embarks on a journey to stop Magus, which takes him to ancient Egypt, Crete, the underworld and Babylon.
Throughout the story, you fight against a variety of enemies, including humans, beasts and mythological creatures. You battle the enemies in melee combat or with up to eight weapons (swords, staffs, gauntlets) across a variety of settings. Power-ups for strength and stamina can be found in cracks in the floor or walls, and concept art can be unlocked by collecting rubies scattered throughout the levels. Dwayne Johnson, who plays Mathayus in the film, lends his voice to the character in the game.
