The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning- Nintendo DS

When the Dark Master attacked the sacred temple, the Fire Guardian Ignitus could only save one of the dragon eggs from destruction. This egg found its way to a family of dragonflies, who raised the newly hatched dragon alongside their own son, Sparx, as one of their own. The dragon Spyro soon discovered his heritage and set off with Sparx on a journey of self-discovery and, ultimately, to save the world from the Dark Master's forces.

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning is a top-down action game based on the console game of the same name. Playing as Spyro, players fight their way through hordes of Cynder's minions and monsters. Spyro can perform melee attacks with Y and build combos with repeated hits. He also learns breath attacks based on the elements of fire, ice, electricity and earth. He can use his primary breath attack or a stronger secondary breath attack that consumes more energy. Some enemies can't actually be damaged by either of these attacks; in such situations, the player has to tap the touchscreen to attack them.

The DS version of the game also features "Power Crystal Puzzles", which must be solved at key points in the game in order to progress. The aim of these puzzles is to place a series of mirrors on the playing field to guide a beam of light around obstacles to its target. Some mirrors split the beam of light into two beams, while prisms split the light into other colours.
