Super Mario World [Yellow Box] - SNES - DE

The events of Yoshi's Island take place in the past. Mario was one of two twin brothers whom the evil Magikoopa Kamek attempted to kidnap. Kamek kidnapped one of the brothers, but the second, Mario, fell onto Yoshi's Island, where Yoshis live. The Yoshis decided to carry baby Mario and bring him to his parents. But Kamek sent troops and hordes of monsters to stop the Yoshis and kidnap Mario. In the game, players control the various coloured Yoshis most of the time. Mario is a helpless baby, unless you collect a star that makes him invincible. As Yoshi, the player can swallow enemies to produce eggs; these eggs are used to attack other enemies and activate switches. Yoshi can perform a flutter jump to overcome large gaps, which is not possible with a normal jump. Players can also stomp on the ground to perform attacks and toggle certain switches. Additionally, Yoshis can transform into vehicles, such as a helicopter, a submarine or a train. When Mario dismounts from a Yoshi, a countdown begins, and Yoshi must catch the baby before Kamek's servants kidnap him. When Mario is invincible, he does not ride on Yoshi and is immune to attacks. While invincible, Mario can climb certain walls.
