Sub-Mariner #52 by Mike Friedrich (story) and Bill Everett (art), a classic from the early Bronze Age of comics. The issue is in good condition.
The character of Sub-Mariner was created by Bill Everett and first appeared in Marvel Comics #1 in October 1939. Together with Captain America and the Human Torch, he was one of the three superheroes who appeared at what was then Timely Comics (the forerunner of Marvel Comics) and fought against the Axis powers on comic pages during the Second World War. He is a hybrid – half human, half Atlantean – with the ability to breathe underwater. He became popular again when Jack Kirby and Stan Lee brought him back from obscurity in Fantastic Four #4 in 1962, breathing new life into him during the Silver Age. After sharing the comic Tales to Astonish with Iron Man in the mid-1960s, he got his own title in 1968. Gene Colan and John Buscema visually defined the Sub-Mariner during the Silver Age of comics and gave him the distinctive look he's known for today.
