Sub-Mariner #46 by Gerry Conway (story) and Gene Colan (art), a classic from the early Bronze Age of comics. The issue is in used condition.
The character of Sub-Mariner was created by Bill Everett and first appeared in Marvel Comics #1 in October 1939. Together with Captain America and Human Torch, he was one of the three superheroes who appeared at what was then Timely Comics (the forerunner of Marvel Comics) and fought against the Axis powers on the comic pages during World War II. He is a hybrid — half human, half Atlantean — with the ability to breathe underwater. He became popular again when Jack Kirby and Stan Lee brought him out of mothballs in 1962 in Fantastic Four #4 and breathed new life into him in the Silver Age. After sharing the comic Tales to Astonish with Iron Man in the mid-1960s, he got his own title in 1968. Gene Colan and John Buscema visually defined Sub-Mariner in the Silver Age of comics and gave him the distinctive look he's known for today.
