Description
You take on the role of Tequila and must not only catch the cop killers, but also, because of Billie and her daughter, involuntarily help Dragon Claw. But the task isn't easy, as hundreds of enemies stand between him and his goal, which mostly ends with killing a boss or blowing things up.
To deal with all the villains, Tequila not only has his fists and his trusty Enforcers (dual-wield pistols) at his disposal, but also gets access to machine guns, shotguns, grenades and rocket launchers. But even that isn't enough. To give Tequila the ultimate edge, he also has access to Tequila Time and Tequila Bomb.
Tequila Time is like Bullet Time in Max Payne. It slows down time and lets Tequila react better to the situation. You can either activate it manually, or it activates automatically when you jump or interact with your surroundings. You can slide across tables, roll around on carts, run up staircase railings and kick over tables to use them as cover.
The Tequila Bombs are super moves like a health boost or a spinning attack (white doves included). To fill up your Tequila Bomb gauge, you need to either find hidden origami cranes or collect style points.
You earn style points by killing enemies during a Tequila Time move or by using your surroundings. If you're fast enough, you get Style Combos, which not only fill your Tequila Bomb gauge faster, but also multiply your style points. With these style points, you can then unlock all kinds of concept art in the main menu.
Since John Woo heavily influenced development, you also take part in Mexican standoffs. In these, you're surrounded by several enemies and Tequila takes them on one by one, but can only lean left and right to dodge incoming bullets.
The game also features an online multiplayer mode with stats. The two available game modes are Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch for up to 6 players.
