Description
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II picks up six months after the end of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Starkiller, the secret apprentice of Darth Vader, was killed by Darth Sidious after betraying his former masters and joining the enemy. Or at least, so it seemed. Force Unleashed 2 opens with Vader entering a large chamber with a prison cell at its centre. Inside is none other than Starkiller himself. He suffers from visions of a woman's voice and a burning forest. Vader explains that these are the memories of a dead man, and that he is in fact a clone of the original Starkiller. Vader sets him the task of killing a few training droids, and Starkiller complies, but when he is meant to take down one who looks like Juno Eclipse, his love interest from the first game, he can't do it. When he learns that he has failed just like the other clones, Starkiller unleashes a powerful blast of Force lightning and escapes. The clone then sets out on a mission not only to discover the truth about whether he is a clone, but also to find Juno Eclipse's whereabouts.

In the game, the player controls Starkiller as he searches for the answers he wants. This takes him to a number of famous planets in the Star Wars universe, including Kamino, the water world where the cloning facility is located, and Dagobah, the swamp-infested planet home to a certain exiled Jedi. Starkiller is equipped with powerful dual lightsabers this time around. An improvement to the game allows Starkiller to dismember his enemies with his lightsaber, which can result in stormtroopers losing their arms or even their heads. All the Force powers from the first game return, complemented by a new upgrade mechanic. Using the experience points earned from killing enemies, he can upgrade each power up to 3 levels. This includes the new power "Mind Trick", which allows Starkiller to take over the minds of Imperial forces and make them attack their own allies or even commit suicide by jumping off buildings.

Holocrons return in this sequel and are scattered throughout every level. Finding them lets you boost your health or energy, unlock new lightsaber colours and powers, or even get a new costume to equip. There is also a Challenge Mode in which the player can take part in a series of 10 challenges, ranging from time trials to gauntlets (fighting waves of enemies). The faster you complete the challenges, the higher your score, with the lowest being a bronze medal and the highest a platinum medal. Completing the challenges also earns new achievements/trophies.
