Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed [Essentials] - OVP - PS3 - DE

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is the sequel to Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. As in the original game, players race with a roster of SEGA characters and a few outside guests on tracks inspired by SEGA games. In this sequel, vehicles can transform into three different types when driving through special gates: kart form, watercraft form and aircraft form, each with a different control style. In addition, many of the tracks transform, changing routes and vehicle types as the race continues.

There's a wide variety of modes for single-player and multiplayer experiences. Multiplayer options include online and local races. Multiple local players can also compete against each other in "Time Trial" or "Grand Prix" modes, or take on the "World Tour", a lengthy challenge that unlocks new characters and character mods. Racing as a particular character over an extended period earns experience points for that character, which unlock new vehicle mods that improve driving performance.

The World Tour offers a wide variety of race types, including Standard, Battle Race, Traffic Attack, Ring Race, Boost Race and Pursuit modes. Progression through the World Tour is based on collecting stars: the difficulty you select before an event represents the number of stars you'll earn if you win. Stars are used to open gates on the map and unlock new characters.
