Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes - Boxed - PS3

Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes is the third instalment in the series, known to English-speaking audiences as Devil Kings. The game plays very similarly to a more arcade-oriented version of Dynasty Warriors, but much more exaggerated and in an anime style. The game also serves as a prequel to the storyline of the anime series.

There are more than a dozen leaders to choose from, each with their own unique weapon and fighting style. Each character also has their own story in Hero Story Mode with multiple paths, depending on which locations the player wants to conquer. Winning a battle not only advances the story, but also raises the character's level through experience earned in battle, as well as bonus experience for special requirements or secrets discovered on the battlefield. Higher levels not only provide better stats, but also new abilities for the characters. New weapons, items, accessories, allies and resources are also awarded. The resources can be used to craft various accessories that make the heroes and their weapons even more powerful.

There is also a Quick Battle mode, which allows players to replay any previously played battlefields. The selectable characters and discovered items are universal and complement each other. This means that any items or levels earned in one mode can be seamlessly carried over to the other. Both modes also support two-player split-screen mode.
