Description
Sniper Elite is a third-person action-strategy game with a focus on sharpshooting. The player takes on the role of an American agent working for the OSS (the organisation that later became the CIA), stationed in Berlin at the end of the Second World War to prevent Russian troops from getting hold of German atomic weapons research. As an elite sniper, it's less about running and gunning and more about finding good positions, placing shots, and taking out the enemy before they even know where you are.
The single-player campaign features 28 missions set in and around Berlin. Players employ stealth tactics, and factors such as wind and background noise can play a role in aiming shots. When a shot lands particularly well, the player is rewarded with a "Bullet Cam" that follows the bullet in slow motion from the rifle barrel to the target.
The game also includes a multiplayer mode with a range of different game types.
