Description
SBK X is the seventh instalment in the official Superbike World Championship video game series and is based on the 2009 season. This time, the game not only includes all the official tracks, riders, motorbikes and sessions of the Superbike class, but also introduces Supersport and Superstock 1000 into the mix. It also introduces the new "Evolving Track" feature. Thanks to this system, the track "rubbers in" over time, revealing the best racing lines and letting the player enjoy better grip. The system also works in wet races. Here, the track dries faster where most riders drive, keeping the player on their toes with constantly changing conditions.

To make the most of the new features, at the start of the game the player can choose between Arcade and Simulation mode:* Arcade mode: This mode allows wheelies and breaking beyond the limits without fear of crashing. Its centrepiece is Story mode, in which the player starts out in Superstock 1000 and gradually works their way up to the Superbike World Championship by collecting reputation points. Reputation points are earned by completing objectives in each race. To this end, races often don't start from the beginning. Instead, the player might, for example, have to work their way from 14th to 10th place in just two laps.
  • Simulation mode: Here it's all about realism - even on the lowest setting. Its centrepiece is Career mode. The player again starts out in Superstock 1000 and has 8 seasons to become the new Superbike World Champion. Instead of challenges and chapters, there are complete races here (including qualifying and warm-up), very sensitive controls, and plenty of ways to adjust the bike's settings to suit the needs of the track and the player

Both modes require the player to create an individual rider by choosing their appearance, outfit and riding style, and offer several Quick Play options. A multiplayer mode for up to 16 riders is also available, offering quick races, Time Attack, as well as personalised individual and team championships.
