Description
SBK X is the seventh edition of the official video game series for the World Superbike Championship and is based on the 2009 season. This time, the game not only includes all official tracks, riders, motorcycles and sessions of the Superbike class, but also introduces Supersport and Superstock 1000 into the mix. In addition, the new feature "Evolving Track" is introduced. Thanks to this system, the track "rubbers" over time, making the best flight paths visible and allowing the player to enjoy more grip. The system also works in wet races. Here, the track dries where most riders ride, faster and keeps the player on their toes with constantly changing conditions.

To take advantage of the new features, players have a choice at the beginning of the game between Arcade and Simulation mode:* Arcade Mode: This mode allows wheelies and breakouts beyond the boundaries without fear of crashing. The centrepiece is the Story Mode, in which the player starts in Superstock 1000 and slowly works his way up to the Superbike World Championship by collecting reputation points. Reputation points are earned by completing objectives in each race. For this purpose, races often do not start at the beginning. Instead, the player must work their way up from 14th to 10th place in just two laps.
  • Simulation Mode: Here it's all about realism - even on the lowest setting. The centrepiece is Career Mode. The player starts again in Superstock 1000 and has 8 seasons to become the new Superbike World Champion. Instead of challenges and chapters, there are full races here (including qualifying and warm-up), very fine controls and plenty of options to adjust the motorcycle settings to the needs of the track and the player

Both modes require the player to create an individual rider by selecting his appearance, outfit and driving style and offer multiple quick-play options. A multiplayer mode for up to 16 riders is also available and offers quick races, time trials as well as personalised single and team championships.
